Otherwise, NG+++ is where I cut it off as it seems the difficulty doesn't really seem to come off as a fun challenge so much as just a challenge. If you're a completionist or really like a challenge or maybe you're just on a lower difficulty setting, don't let the last two +'s get in your way. Lastly, I want to offer my opinion that NG+++ is the highest I feel that's really worth going to since the monsters start at level 100 and obviously only go up from there. I must add though, that you can only play multi-player with players who are on the same level of NG+ as you, so if you were to go to NG+++, you couldn't play with someone that was on NG++ or NG++++ as an example. The Strength, Dexterity, Focus and Vitality have no maximum, but the attributes they affect do have maximums: Strength: Weapon Damage: unknown (so far at 7451 and continuing) Critical Damage: 399.6. You will likely still not be max fame level though, so you can still earn fame by killing champions/bosses and gain skill points because of fame increases.Īs a final alternative, you can start NG+ now, and if you don't really feel like running all the way back through the campaign again, just head to whatever town is nearest and go to the mapworks from there. If you're level 100 when you enter NG+, you are already max level and can't get any more experience so you won't be getting any more stat points. Any stats/skills you get will still apply and you can then also opt to go into NG+ from there. If you decide you want to do the mapworks instead, you'll be able to level as high as you want, but if you return to any of the previous acts, the monsters will still be the level they were when you started the game (Like level 1-20 or so for act 1). And yes each level up in fame you get an additional skill point. Here they are listed below in order of starting fame level. You will, however, have access to the mapworks in NG+ mode, right from the moment you enter the town in Act 1. 2 Actually there are 34 levels of fame (not 32) I thought I was close to the top of the fame level at Local Hero, turned out it was only 12 on the list of 34. You just close off the various Acts of the game until you progress through the story enough to get to them again. As for a new character, at which difficulty level would 1 hit kills not be an issue, yet the game still challenging enough? Perhaps better yet, does anyone know what changing the difficulty actually does in terms of scaling (ie: is a simple multiplication factor applied to all monsters damage?)įor the sake of the above example, defense stats: The char also has max healing bot for his level, which is 12).Okay so if you go to NG+, you basically just repeat the campaign with your character in the exact state that its in right when you do it. Ive always wanted to share my builds from the likes of Torchlight II. Update: i have now included two of my related mods into this one. I am thinking about making a new char altogether as I do not see this build as viable anymore for me. Gather your wits and brave the frontier to find fame, glory, and a new adventure. This mod raises your max level to 500 and fame to 200, from the games default level 100 and fame 33. My problem is that I do not want to play where I can die from 1 hit, especially with that much defense, yet I cannot set any lower as the game is already easy enough in terms of killing. Each time you gain a tier of Fame, the title displayed under your character's name changes and you gain a skill point. Also regular mobs are hitting him pretty hard. Torchlight Table of Contents Gameplay Walkthrough Your character gains Fame by completing some quests and killing Champions, progress being indicated by the purple bar at the top of the character sheet. I'm guessing that you are just starting the game and currently your fame is low and is labeled bad. The levels have names like unknown, remarkable, etc. My highest level veteran engi uses the cannon.
